About Us...
Hello! My name is Dr. Kia Barnett, Ed.D., CCC-SLP, and the founder of Shining Stars Pediatric Therapy. I’m a licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with with over 25 years of experience helping children shine through communication. My areas of expertise include AAC strategies and supports, autism, ADHD, articulation, language delays, early intervention, and auditory processing. I have a deep passion for supporting children with complex communication needs.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and neurodiversity-affirming. I believe communication is a human right and that every child deserves tools that help them connect, participate, and thrive.
When I’m not working with families, I enjoy vacationing with my family, reading, and running in local races.
